The Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour was created by Sausalito artist and author, Victoria Colella in 2003 upon the publication of her first edition of the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour guide book.

Butterflute Studios, which serves as headquarters for the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour, Valhalla Signworks  and Butterflute's Wedding Chapel is located in the heart of the historic Marinship District next to the ship ways where the Libertyships were built and launched in WWII. It is also in the middle of Sausalito's wooden boat center. It is because of this unique setting Victoria was inspired to write the guide book and create these tours and treasure hunts.

Guests on the Classic Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour will finish up their tour at Butterflute Studios to enjoy the ambiance of the working waterfront over a lovely table of tea and cookies.
