About the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour
The Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour was created by Sausalito artist and author, Victoria Colella in 2003 upon the publication of her first edition of the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour guide book and keepsake. Victoria is pictured on the left aboard the 1940 John Hanna Tahiti ketch, Sequestor, the boat that inspired the tour.
Butterflute Studios, which serves as headquarters for the Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour and Valhalla Signworks is located in the heart of the historic Marinship District next to the shipways where the Libertyships were built in WWII. It is also in the middle of Sausalito's wooden boat center. It is because of this unique setting Victoria was inspired to write the guide book and create these tours and treasure hunts.
Guests on the Historic Houseboat Tour will finish up their tour at Butterflute Studios to enjoy the ambiance of the working waterfront over a lovely table of tea and cookies.
